Rhine to nowhere

The Rhine river under the snow, shot from a bridge. This ain\’t no BW picture, all I did was adjust the levels in photoshop (and remove some noise too). And I left the dark corners (top) intentionally, these show vignetting of the lens I used. Some people jsut can\’t stand this and edit these artifacts...

Wanderweg

We took the kids to the mountains this afternoon, took a ski lift to the top and came back down on sleds. A \’wanderweg\’ is a hiking trail, for those of you who don\’t read german.

First snow – 3

There are (I think) thirty of these dragon-shaped fountains in Basel, out of around 170 total. They were built in 1884. They represent one of the symbols of the city : the basilisk (link), a mythical creature of the middle age which is featured in the local history of several european cities, like Wien, Autria.
